As more states legalize cannabis, the industry is growing rapidly. What was once a small-scale industry is now becoming a multi-billion dollar industry. This growth is attracting investors, entrepreneurs and businesses of all types. What is driving this trend? Some point to the potential for big profits, while others point to the positive social impact of legalization. Whatever the reasons, it’s clear that marijuana attracts people from all walks of life, and online headshops like Smoke Cartel are the latest trend in the industry. These stores offer a wide variety of products that will lift you up in ways you never imagined. From bongs and bubblers to flowers and concentrates, there’s something for everyone at an online headshop.

Weed and movies have always been a popular combination. There’s something about smoking a joint and then opening a DVD, or finding something new on Netflix, that seems to work. If you’re looking for great movie recommendations to watch after smoking weed, look no further.

This list has something for everyone, from stoner comedies to mind-blowing dramas, these films will keep you entertained all night long. So roll a fat, put on your favorite movie and enjoy!

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

If you’re in the mood for a movie that accurately portrays spaceflight, has one of the best atmospheres created in a movie, and doesn’t have a lot of dialogue, then 2001: A Space Odyssey is perfect for you.

The film is about humanity trying to discover its origins, but it is not alone and has the help of an intelligent HAL 9000 supercomputer. As Neil deGrasse Tyson once said “the universe is not don’t have to give you a sense”, but maybe he will while stoned, watching this movie.

Pineapple Express (2008)

Dale Denton (Seth Rogen, right) and Saul Silver (James Franco, left) are two lazy stoners running for their lives in Columbia Pictures’ action comedy Pineapple Express. The film is directed by David Gordon Green. The screenplay is by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg from a story by Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg. Judd Apatow and Shauna Robertson are producing.

The next movie on this list is probably one of the most iconic stoner movies of recent years, Pineapple Express. The humor in this movie is quite funny and understated, but when it’s stoned, it’s even better and easier to understand.

The film follows Dale, a bailiff, who must escape a murderous drug lord. He’s not doing it alone, he has to work with his drug dealer, Saul. It’s a must if you fancy an evening full of laughs.

Kung Fu Hustle (2004)

What if you take the classic kung fu movies that have people flying around a room and combine them with essentially borderline superpowers and ridiculous humor? You obtain The bustle of Kung Fu.

The film follows the events that unfold in a small neighborhood after a notorious gang takes things a bit too far in order to show the residents that they are in control. Amid the ridiculous antics, special effects, and satire, you can’t help but feel good throughout.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Another cult classic that you absolutely have to watch while lighting one up is pulp Fiction. The film is rated 10and the greatest movie of all time, and starring Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta, to name a few of the big stars involved, it’s no surprise.

Without giving away too much of the plot, the film follows the lives of a boxer, two mobsters, two low-level criminals, and a mobster’s wife, as their lives intertwine.

Tangled (2010)

There’s just something about watching an anime movie while stoned that makes it even better, and one movie that sure to impress is Tangled. When you realize that the artists actually wanted the film to look like watercolors, that’s even better.

If the movie feels familiar watching it, that’s because it’s a take on Rapunzel, who escapes her overbearing mother and goes on an adventure with the charming thief Flynn.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009)

Another animated movie that will keep you entertained through most of your high is Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, and when this movie came out, it was everywhere. There’s just something endearing about watching someone try until they sort of succeed.

The film follows an inventor named Flint Lockwood who eventually creates something that makes him popular, until it backfires and has to save the day.

The Matrix (1999)

Probably one of the most iconic movies in the world, and the best movie to watch while stoned, is the Matrix. The film stars Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, and Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus.

The film’s plot alone should make you realize why it’s a stoner’s favourite; Neo discovers his life is a simulation and must help a small group of survivors defeat an all-powerful cyber-intelligence.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

The last movie on this list is another animation that also delves into the issues of the universe. He’s not your typical Spider-Man, and the art style used in the film is gorgeous and reminiscent of classic comic books.

The film follows teenage Miles Morales as he becomes the new Spider-Man, at least in his universe, and must team up with other web crawlers to save all universes.
