Exceptional announcement from No Way Home
Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire recreate the iconic Spider-Man pointing meme to announce the Spider-Man: No Way Home press release. Recently, the three wall robots shared the screen in the latest Marvel movie, released last December. The film became the highest-grossing film of 2021 and is extremely close to $2 billion at the global box office.
Not only did it become the highest-grossing film of the past year, but director Jon Watts is also currently the third highest-grossing film of all time in the United States, surpassing many big names like Avengers: Infinity War and Avatar. Much of its success is attributed to the involvement of the former Spideys.
There were already rumors swirling about Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s secret cameo starring as Tom Holland. When that turned out to be true, fans flocked to theaters to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home. Now that the film has been on the big screen for over two months, Sony has announced that it will hit digital platforms in March and physical shelves in April.
They made the Spider-Man: No Way Home announcement by sharing a photo of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire recreating the iconic Spider-Man pointing meme. Sony took to Twitter to make the announcement. “Of course we have THE meme,” they wrote. Check it here:

The origins of the pointing meme can be traced back to the 1967 animated series based on the friendly neighborhood superhero. In an episode in which an actor-turned-criminal tried to hide his identity by impersonating the web-slinger but finds himself confronted by the real hero during one of his meme-driven art thefts.
The meme was also recreated in Spider-Man: No Way Home by Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire. It was revealed that it was Andrew who improvised the scene, suggesting an idea on how to do it.
